Wyatt Trust Capacity Grant

The Wyatt Trust Capacity Grant, delivered in partnership with the Rural Business Support Relief Fund, provides up to $1,500 in practical financial assistance to eligible South Australian clients who are actively working with a financial counsellor.

These grants are designed to remove immediate financial barriers, reduce stress, and create breathing space, so you can focus on stabilising your situation and working toward longer-term solutions with support.

Grant Use

Grants can be used to cover essential expenses such as:

  • Utilities (electricity, gas, water, internet, phone)
  • Council rates and statutory charges
  • Groceries and fuel
  • Emergency or short-term accommodation and travel
  • School costs (fees, uniforms, camps, computers)
  • Vehicle costs (registration, tyres, essential repairs)
  • Urgent medical or dental expenses
  • Professional services (accounting, bookkeeping, legal support)
  • Essential home repairs (e.g. heating/cooling, fencing for safety)
  • Time-critical business expenses (e.g. irrigation, inputs, packaging)
  • Insurance or risk management costs
  • Sporting memberships or equipment supporting wellbeing

These grants are flexible and based on individual need, with priorities identified in partnership with your financial counsellor.

Grants cannot be used for:

  • Loss of income
  • Loan repayments, credit cards, mortgages or cash advances
  • Fines
  • Alcohol, tobacco or illicit substances
  • Firearms or gun-related expenses

Grants are paid directly to service providers upon receipt of an official invoice or quote, not to applicants. Grocery or fuel vouchers may also be provided where appropriate.
Only one grant of up to $1,500 is available per eligible household per year.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a Wyatt Trust Capacity Grant, applicants must:

  • Live and operate in South Australia
  • Hold a valid ABN or ACN
  • Be actively engaged with a Rural or Small Business Financial Counsellor
  • Be working toward agreed financial goals with their counsellor
  • Have completed a Statement of Position
  • Provide evidence of financial hardship or risk of hardship

How to Apply

To apply, you must:

  • Be working with a Rural or Small Business Financial Counsellor
  • Have your application submitted on your behalf through Rural Business Support

Your counsellor will work with you to:

  • Understand your situation and priorities
  • Identify essential needs
  • Gather supporting information
  • Submit the application on your behalf
