Rural Business Support (RBS) is partnering with Regional Development Australia Murraylands and Riverland to deliver the Drought Proof Futures Program – Small Business Fundamentals, supporting small and family-owned businesses impacted by drought across the region.
The program provides practical, on-the-ground support to help business owners strengthen their core business skills, including financial management, cash flow, marketing and strategic planning. Delivered through a combination of workshops, mentoring and tailored training, the program is designed to equip businesses with the tools they need to adapt to challenging conditions and plan for the future with confidence.

As part of the program, RBS is delivering free four-hour one-on-one Business Health Checks with experienced advisors. These tailored sessions give business owners the opportunity to step back from day-to-day operations and focus on strengthening their business through:
- Get clearer on how the business is tracking
- Review business structure and day-to-day operations
- Strengthen financial understanding and planning
- Identify risks and explore practical options
- Think about next steps, including future direction or succession
- Build confidence in decision-making and managing the business
