Financial Fitness Program

Rural Business Support (RBS) partnered with the NT Farmers Association (NTFA) to deliver the NTFA Financial Fitness Program, aimed at improving the financial literacy of growers in the Darwin and Katherine regions. This initiative helped participants develop a stronger understanding of their financial position and provided them with tools to improve their business decision-making.

The program began with face-to-face workshops in Darwin, delivered by RBS Rural Financial Counsellors. The sessions were well attended, including a translated session for over 30 Vietnamese growers. Following the success of the in-person workshops, three additional online sessions were conducted to maximise accessibility for NTFA members.

Participants were then offered one-on-one consultations with RBS Rural Financial Counsellors to conduct in-depth business financial assessments. This included the use of Plan2Profit Agri™, a financial analysis and planning software tool designed to help businesses strengthen their long-term sustainability.

The program was funded through the Northern Territory Government’s Small Business Financial Fitness Fund, as part of the Jobs First Plan, an initiative supporting jobs and economic growth.
