Our Strategic Plan

Rural Business Support’s roadmap to 2030 reinforces our commitment to helping rural businesses and communities build resilience and navigate change. At its core is the continued delivery of the Rural Financial Counselling Service and expanded support through programs like the Landowner Information Service and RBS Relief Fund.

The plan prioritises inclusive, accessible services, workforce development, and strong partnerships with government and industry. By empowering commercial-scale famers, fishers, foresters and small business owners with practical tools and guidance, we aim to strengthen the long-term sustainability of rural South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Rural Business Support is a not-for-profit organisation committed to strengthening rural businesses and communities through governance, strategic oversight and expert leadership.

RBS is an Incorporated Association registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI). The RBS Rules of Association can be viewed on the ACNC Charities Register.

Our Board’s Role

The RBS Board provides governance, leadership and oversight to ensure strong financial management, effective strategic planning and alignment with community needs and government policies.

Board members are intentionally recruited for their expertise in agribusiness strategy and finance, corporate governance and risk management, biosecurity and sustainable development, mental health and community resilience, and not-for-profit leadership and industry partnerships.
